FOLKS WE KNEW THINGS COULD CHANGE IN A HURRY AND SURE ENOUGH THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED. JIMMIE JOHNSON GOT THROW'D THE FIRST JUMP OUT OF THE CHUTE AN SO IT WAS SUNDOWN FOR JIMMIE AT JUST PAST HIGH NOON. THE OTHER STORY ITEM , TO THIS BLOGGER, THAT BEARS MENTIONING IS THE FACT THAT KYLE BUSCH RUINED WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A RECORD BREAKING WEEKEND, NOT BY RUNNING OUT OF GAS, BUT BY REVERTING TO HIS CHILD LIKE INNER PERSON AND GOING AND HIDING AFTER THE RACE RATHER THEN JUST STANDING UP AND SAYING WHAT HIS CREW CHIEF SAID, THAT A MISTAKE WAS MADE AND THAT THEY CAME UP SHORT. KYLE IS AN EXCELLENT DRIVER, BUT IF HE DOESN'T GROW UP HIS GREAT CLAIM TO NASCAR FAME ISN'T GOING TO BE ALL THE RACES HE WILL WIN AND CHAMPIONSHIPS THAT HE WILL WIN, BUT HIS CRY BABY ATTITUDE AND POOR SHOWING OF SHORTSMANSHIP.
THIS IS HOW I SAW THE RACE ON THIS BALMY SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN NOVEMBER, I REALLY HOPE THAT AT LEAST A FEW OF YOU AGREE AND IF YOU DON'T THAT'S OK ANYWAY. I CAN'T PLEASE ALL OF YOU SO I GUESS I WILL JUST PLEASE MYSELF.
NOT:
1. SAM HORNISH JR.: YOU CAN'T REALLY BLAME SAM FOR THE JOHNSON WRECK, WHETHER THE 00 GOT INTO HIM OR IF SAM JUST GOT LOOSE, IT WAS JUST ONE MORE BAD WEEK FOR SAM HORNISH JR. . IF WE ARE REALLY LUCKY SAM WILL BE SHARING A SEAT NEXT TO DAVID STREMME NEXT SEASON AND WE CAN ALL BREATH A LITTLE EASIER.
2. NASCAR DEBRIS CAUTIONS: ISN'T IT AMAZING THAT A CAUTION COMES OUT FOR WHAT APPEARED TO BE A SARAN WRAPPED BOLOGNA SANDWICH, JUST BEFORE JEFF GORDON GOES A LAP DOWN, COME ON GUYS GET A LIFE.
3. JUAN MONTOYA: HOW IS IT THAT YOU TURN RIGHT, DRIVE AN OPPONENT INTO THE WALL , DESTROY HIS CAR AND THEN SAY IT WAS HIS FAULT. BESIDES AS UGLY AS THE #42'S PAINT JOB WAS TODAY IT NEEDED TO BE WRECKED.
4. #24 TEAM: GUYS WHEN YOU GET HANDED A GIFT AND A CHANCE TO MOVE CLOSER OR TAKE THE LEAD IN THE CHASE, YOU HAVE TO RISE TO THE OCCASION AND MAKE THE MOST OF IT. THIS TEAM DIDN'T SEEM TO BE INTERESTED OR ABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE CAR TO CUT THE LEAD OF YOUR TEAMMATE. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE, JEFF TALKED WITH THE PRESS AFTER THE RACE AND BASICALLY SAID I SUCK AT THIS TRACK AND WE JUST DIDN' T GET IT DONE.
5. KYLE BUSCH: KYLE LET AN OUTSTANDING WEEKEND GO DOWN THE DRAIN WITH HIS ATTITUDE AFTER THE RACE. YES, SOMEWHERE IN THE MIX A MISTAKE WAS MADE, BUT GOING AND HIDING IN YOUR MOTORCOACH OR LEAVING THE TRACK IS NOT THE WAY TO SHOW YOU MATURITY.
HOT:
1. KURT BUSCH: THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU HAVE TO HAVE AS MUCH LUCK AS YOU DO ABILITY, AND TODAY WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS. KURT USED BOTH TODAY TO WIN THE RACE, MOVE UP 2 SPOTS IN THE CHASE, AND WIN A YOUNG MAN FROM BROKEN BOW OKLAHOMA A MILLION DOLLARS. KURT REALLY DESERVES A WHITE HAT FOR THIS WEEK.
2. DENNY HAMLIN: DENNY HAS BEEN SO UP AND DOWN, HE HAS TO FEEL LIKE A YOYO, BUT HE HASN'T BEEN ONE TO REALLY WHINE AND CRY . HE MOVED UP 3 SPOTS IN THE CHASE AND WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE EVERYTHING HE HAS TO WIN.
3. MATT KENSETH: WELL I'M NOT SURE MATT DIDN'T COME CLOSER TO STARTING THE RACE IN GRAPEVINE TEXAS RATHER THEN IN DALLAS. MATT WORKED THROUGH OUT THE DAY TO MOVE FROM HIS STARTING POSITION OF 30th TO A 3rd PLACE FINISH. IT IS REALLY GREAT TO ONCE AGAIN SEE A COUPLE OF ROUSH BOYS IN THE TOP 10.
4. MARK MARTIN: ONE MORE TIME THE OLD MAN PROVES THAT OLD AGE AND ABILITY WILL GET YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO BE. WHEN JOHNSON GOT THE WALL MARK KNEW THAT ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS CONTINUE TO BE MARK MARTIN AND HE WOULD COME OUT SMELLING LIKE THAT FAMOUS YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS. MARK MOVED BACK INTO SECOND PLACE IN THE CHASE AND IS TRAILING BY ONLY 73 POINTS.
5. KEVIN HARVICK: KEVIN HAS MADE FORWARD PROGRESS MOST OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON, SHOWING THAT NOT ONLY IS THE 29 CAR STILL TO BE DEALT WITH BUT THAT THE ENTIRE RCR PROGRAM MAY HAVE TURNED THE CORNER AND IS ON THE WAY BACK.
WELL FOLKS THAT IS HOW I SAW THE RACE TODAY AND NEXT WEEK WE MOVE TO PHOENIX, AND THE WEATHER MAY WELL PLAY A BIG PART IN THE RACE CAUSE IT IS GOING TO BE ONE EXTREME OR THE OTHER, IT WILL EITHER BE HOTTER THEN THE DIXENS OR COLDER THEN A WELL DIGGER'S REAR END IN DECEMBER. SEE YA THERE

Sorry I missed last week's H/N GUNNY - I was laid out with this cold - still not 100% and cant find your recommendation for sore throat - although now its mostly an unproductive cough!

ReplyDeleteKristen don't know what Gunny's remedy is, but try pure honey and lemon juice. Heat til just warm and drink. It will help to soothe your throat. I have been drinking alot of it myself the past week.
ReplyDeleteNow on to Gunny's H/N well, I am going to disagree with you about Kyle speaking to the press when he is mad. See, my driver has gotten into alot of trouble with the press for speaking when he was angry, and remember he use to drive for JGR.lol
JGR might have a rule in place for their drivers, if you are angry, keep your mouth shut and go to the coachlot. Let your Crew chief speak for the team, not you.
I could not believe that Jimmie Johnson got wrecked on the 3rd lap. I was not really paying attention to the race at that point. I heard the answers say something was happening on the track. I turned and there he was hitting the inside wall. Mark Martin certainly did take advantage of the 48s misfortune.
Now if only alittle more misfortune could befall him at Phoenix and Homestead. I know too much to hope for. lol

Hey, if we all agreed, then we wouldn't need blogs to express our own opinion. hahahaha
ReplyDeleteGibbs had to kind of tolerate Stewart's outburst. He was making them far too much money. Doesn't mean that they didn't have alot to say to him about them. But they knew which side their bread was buttered.
Now Kyle is no champion yet. And he doesn't have the fan following that Stewart had. And he doesn't bring in the big bucks like Stewart did.
Don't get me wrong, I love it when these fire in the belly drivers have alot to say to the media. That was one of the many things about Stewart that has kept me as a fan. And that is one of the things about Kyle that makes me a fan of his.
But Gibbs, no longer has to allow such outbursts. And they have learned to make sure that there is someone right there with that driver, and to get them away from the media ASAP.
