HOT OR NOT - THIS LADY IN BLACK AIN'T NOBODY'S DARLIN'

GREETING FROM SW OKLAHOMA:

WELL FOLKS THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH WRECKS AND BANGED UP CARS FOR EVERYONE LAST NIGHT. OF COURSE SOME OF US ENDED UP MORE BANGED UP THEN OTHERS. IT APPEARS THAT THE "DUCK WARS" MUST CONTINUE ANOTHER WEEK, KATIE'S VOODOO DUCK SEEMED TO DO ALL OF HER WORK BEFORE THE RACE EVEN STARTED, CAUSING CARL TO HAVE A HORRIBLE QUAL. TIME AND END UP IN THE REAR OF THE PACK BUT THEN PHIDEAUX STEPPED IN AND STARTED TO WORK HIS OWN KIND OF MAGIC. HIS PROTECTION ENABLED CARL TO SALVAGE A 15TH PLACE FINISH AND HOLD HIS POSITION IN THE CHASE. NOT A BAD NIGHTS WORK FOR A GUY WHO STARTED 41st. MAYBE NOT AS GOOD A MAGIC AS "THORN" BUSCH HAD MOVING FROM 43rd TO 7th , BUT STILL HE WAS ABLE TO FIGHT OFF THE VOODOO DUCK. BUT TO BE HONEST I HAVE TO CALL THE FIRST ROUND NO BETTER THEN A DRAW. AND THIS IS HOW I SAW THE REST OF THE RACE.

NOT:

4. RCR MAINTENANCE CREWS: FOR EITHER THE 2nd OR 3rd TIME THIS SEASON WE HAVE SEEN A RCR CAR WHICH WAS MAKING A GOOD RUN, SUDDENLY GO DOWN AND LOSE SEVERAL LAPS OR END UP OUT OF THE RACE DUE TO BRAKE PROBLEMS, TONIGHT IT WAS CLINT BOWYER AND A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO KEVIN HARVICK, COME ON GUYS THESE DRIVERS ARE ALREADY WORKING AGAINST 43 OTHER DRIVERS THEY DON'T NEED YOU WORKING AGAINST THEM ALSO.

3. RICHARD PETTY MOTORSPORTS: THIS OPERATION CAN'T EVEN HOLD ON TO GOOD DRIVERS AND ACCORDING TO ALLMENDINGER, THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK ON THE BRAKING SYSTEM OF THE CARS EITHER. ACCORDING TO HIM THIS IS THE 3rd OR 4TH WEEK THAT HE HAS HAD TO BABY THE BRAKES DURING AN ENTIRE RACE. RICHARD SPARE YOURSELF ANYMORE EMBRASSMENT AND GET YORU NAME OFF THAT RACE TEAM. WE WOULD LIKE TO REMEMBER YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID NOT FOR WHAT A RACE TEAM WITH YOUR NAME ON IT DIDN'T DO.

2. TONY STEWART: THESE LAST 3 WEEKS HAVE BEEN A NIGHTMARE FOR TONY. IT LOOKS LIKE RIGHT NOW HE COULDN'T GET A GOOD FINISH IF HE WAS THE ONLY DRIVER IN THE RACE. I KNOW HE IS SO WISHING FOR HIS MIDDLE OF THE SEASON SURGE, AND IF IT DON'T GET HERE PRETTY QUICK WE MAY SEE A MISSING CAR IN THE CHASE THIS YEAR.

1. BOBBY LABONTE: I REALLY LIKE THIS TEXAS BOY, BUT THE LAST 3 OR 4 WEEKS HE HAS LOOKED LIKE EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE 2000 NASCAR CHAMPION. HATE TO SAY THIS BUT MAYBE IT IS TIME FOR BOBBY TO FOLLOW HIS BROTHER INTO RETIREMENT. THE TRUTH IS I THINK MAYBE HE HAS ALREADY DRIFTED INTO THE "HAS BEEN" BRACKET.

HOT:

5. JUAN MONTOYA: JUAN CONTINUES TO BE RIGHT IN THE FRAY AND HE KEEPS INCHING UP THE LADDER OF THE STANDINGS, BUT HE JUST CAN'T CLOSE THE DEAL. I FIND MYSELF WISHING HE WOULD WIN A RACE SO THE GUYS FROM FOX WOULD BACK OFF ABOUT HOW BAD HE NEEDS TO WIN A RACE.

4. JEFF GORDON: HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU KEEP COMING UP SHORT AND STILL MOVE UP IN THE STANDINGS, JEFF JUST KEEPS COMING UP JUST A TINY BIT SHORT BUT IS STILL MOVING ONWARD AND UPWARD. I'M NOT QUITE SURE HOW MUCH LONGER HE CAN KEEP TAKING THE BLAME FOR NOT CLOSING THE DEAL, CAUSE SOONER OR LATER IT'S GONNA HAVE TO BE SOMEONE ELSE'S FAULT.

3. KURT BUSCH: I DO BELIEVE THAT LAST NIGHT KURT MAY HAVE GIVEN US THE VERY BEST EXAMPLE OF COMBINING LUCK, GOOD DRIVING, AND BEING IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME THAT WE WILL SEE ALL SEASON LONG. KURT HAD A LITTLE LUCK, MADE A LITTLE LUCK WITH HIS DRIVING, AND SEEMED TO BE JUST IN THE RIGHT SPOT ALL NIGHT LONG. BUT NO MATTER WHAT YOU USE TO GET IT A TOP 5 IS AWAYS A GOOD THING.

2. JAMIE McMURRAY: WELL FOR SURE JAMIE CAN'T USE THE SONG "I AIN'T GOT NO HOME" FOR HIS THEME MUSIC. SINCE HIS MOVE FROM ROUSH THIS CAT HAS COME TO LIFE, HE SITS IN 16th RIGHT NOW, BUT IF HE CONTINUES TO MOVE UP 3 SLOTS EVERY WEKK IT WON'T BE LONG TILL HE IS SITTING IN THE TOP 5 REAL SOON.

1. DENNY HAMLIN: THIS BOY IS ON A MISSION AND I DO BELIEVE THAT AS HE CONTINUES ON THAT MISSION HE IS GOING TO END UP IN THE CAT BIRD'S SEAT AND BEABLE TO SAY "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED". THE FACT THAT HE IS DOING SO WELL WITH THE BUMMED UP KNEE IS JUST BEYOND GREAT. DENNY DID A SUPER JOB AND WE MIGHT AS WELL GET USED TO SEEING THAT SAME GOOD JOB WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.

A TIP OF THE HAT HAS TO GO TO "THORN" BUSCH FOR HIS EXCELLENT SHOWING, FOR A FEW MINUTES I REALLY THOUGHT HE WAS GONNA STEAL ANOTHER ONE AND THE CHARLIE BROWN " GOOD GRIEF AWARD" HAS TO GO TO JEFF BURTON. THIS IS HOW I SAW THE RACE, CHIME IN WITH WHAT I MISSED.

THIS IS MY OPINION - WHAT'S YOURS

  3. Gunaquat, good Hot or Not as usual. Hamlin has certainly proved to be a worthy challenger to Johnson's reign. Don't count out Kevin Harvick. His sixth place finish (from 35th starting position) was his first top 10 at Darlington since the 2003 Southern 500. He had a great finish considering he has a 10 cent crew.

  5. I was glad to see Hamlin do so well. It was nice to see Almingdinger take out J.J. I could almost see a dark figure behind him holding a large envelope during almingdinger's interview about the wreck.

  6. Not sure what is up with the teams and these braking systems. Someone is trying to get an edge somewhere and its not working. The crews are not incompetent even on the start and park teams...I'll have to poke around at Sonoma and see what my crew thinks.

Thank you for sparing Sam from the Not list! LOL
